Putsborough is a mellow beach break, and is good for all surfing abilities.
North Devon's surfing beaches are the closest consistent breaks to the south coast and London. Travel time
from London to Croyde is about three or four hours by car, and the M5 is just less than an hour away. Devon has become very popular with weekend warriors looking for a quick and easy surf trip, and a week or more's break here almost guarantees you good waves and plenty to keep the rest of the family happy. Croyde is renowned, but there are many beachies like Putsborough which have quiet, friendly accommodation options (campsites, surf hostels, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts abound) and attract plenty of swell. Devon boasts some of the best BSA-accredited surf schools in the country as well as plenty of surf shops and hire places. It's the ideal no-hassle surf holiday destination in the UK.
