A day spent in Shanklin with its beautiful beach and warm climate,
could rival a day spent anywhere in the world. It boasts the Island’s
oldest established surf shop and one of the best water-sports centres
in the country, where you can learn windsurfing, sailing, surfing,
kayaking and more. There are many places to dine, from beach cafes
to traditional seaside pubs and the cliff walk, with its breathtaking
view of the bay, is simply splendid. There’s even a lift to
take you down to the beach.
Shanklin doesn't break that often but when it does it is usually quite
hollow. There are a few different breaks along the beach with Hope
beach being the most popular, but there are
also a few other waves just to the south and these can get really
hollow when the conditions are right.
