Newquay Bay

Newquay, Cornwall

Newquay bay is a huge stretch of sand at low tide and is split up into three main beaches, Towan next to the harbour, Great Western and Tolcarne. All beaches work best on west to north westerly swell with southerly winds although when the winds are westerly, there is still some shelter by the harbour. This is the place to go when Fistral Beach and other west facing beaches are blown-out and on-shore. The beaches work best on low to mid tides. Tolcarne beach has a peaky wedge at high tide which is great for bodyboarding and more experienced surfers.
