East Runton

Runton, Norfolk

East Runton is one of the most popular surfing breaks in East Anglia. Go south for Cromer and Walcott for low tide waves.

The beach faces north with waves breaking over sand and flinty rocks; best from mid-to high-tide because a reef blocks the swell at low. It needs a big northerly swell to get it working but when there is a good swell, it's a great surfing beach and has waves all abilities. At the west end is a long right, lefts and rights break by the sewer pipe and a left breaks on the flinty reef at the eastern end. Needs a north swell to work an exposed to the wind like many breaks in the area.

The beach is also located down a winding lane from the village.
