Sandilands
Sutton-on-sea, Lincolnshire
Sandilands is the main hub of Lincolnshire surfing and tends to draw in the locals and visitors alike. Theres a slight curve in the beach so it picks up northerly groundswells more effectively than other spots in the area. Sandi's works best on the push from mid tide, with a southwesterly wind being offshore. There can be a steep drop off at Sandilands beach which can make surfing high tide tricky. The peaks shift and the sandbars vary, but on a good day Sandilands can generate hollow, punchy, long peeling lefts and rights from one- to eight-feet in height. Beginners on small days, intermediates and experienced surfers only on bigger swells.
A good destination for a quick, easy and cheap UK surf break when the winds are favourable - loads of affordable accommodation options and a growing surf scene supporting surf schools, hire shops and a cool local crew.
