Pontinfer is one of Guernsey's main surfing beaches and is the most consistent, popular break, with plenty of power. It's a
north west facing break, with waves breaking over sand and rocks, best
on an outgoing tide. Portifer is usually 2ft bigger than Vazon. Mind the boulders and closeouts. Can be better on an onshore which gives the waves more shape.
Guernsey is ideal for a surf holiday; generally warm and inviting waves
with a well built holiday infrastructure. You can fly over or grab a
ferry from most British ports. Take your car if you want to explore the
myriad breaks available. Camping is a good option here. Guernsey has a
great surf scene and plenty of services like surf shops, hire places
and surf schools to get you going.
